Why Rolfing?
Because the intention of Rolfing® is to work with the whole body and not just the symptoms of pain or dysfunction, there is better opportunity to address root causes, bring better balance and organization to the entire body, and have more sustainability of results as we help the body restore itself back to the natural integrity of its design.
I am a believer that rarely is it one modality that is the silver bullet of wellness. Usually it is a combination of practices that bring about the best results, so clients experience the best results when Rolfing is combined with other holistic practices and a healthy and active lifestyle.
What You Can Expect When You Work With Me
I work to create a safe, comfortable, and professional environment for my clients. In our first session together we will discuss your goals for your sessions, as well as spend time assessing your structure and movement. This will help in framing our sessions. Additionally, we will take time in our sessions to discuss habits of movement, posture, and activities of daily living so dysfunctional patterns can be identified and replaced with better functional patterns and bring further progress and sustainability to the work we do in our sessions.
What is Rolfing®?
The premise of Rolfing® is that the body works more effectively and efficiently when aligned, balanced, supported, and adaptable in relationship with gravity. This is completed through manipulation of fascia (connective tissue) to release tension and strain throughout the body.
Usually completed in a series of sessions, each session is focused on what the body presents in structure and movement—with the goal of freeing tissue restrictions preventing optimal movement, establishing better support and adaptability throughout the body, movement re-education, and helping someone be resilient in body, mind, and spirit.
